HELECOS Congresses
The main systematic activity of HELECOS is to organise a conference every two years, in which new findings in the science of Ecology are presented. Apart from Greek researchers, international researchers participate either as special guests or as members of Greek research teams. Round tables with special themes are also frequently organised.
HELECOS conferences are open not only to Greek academic institutions but to all researchers that are actively working on ecological issues. We strongly support participation from young researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, whom we encourage to present their findings to the scientific community.
The general assembly of the HELECOS (Mytilene, 11 October 2014) decided to establish the “N.S. Margaris” Prize dedicated to the memory of N.S. Margaris for his pioneering work in the field of Ecology. The prize is awarded to PhD students of Greek Universities, who present findings of their work at HELECOS conferences. The “N.S. Margaris” Prize is accompanied by a monetary or other award.
