European Ecological Federation’s journal: Web Ecology

Dear all,

We will draw your attention to Web Ecology (http://www.web-ecology.net/), the Open Access Journal issued since 2000 by the European Ecological Federation (EEF). Web Ecology publishes papers from all fields of ecology within a broad European context. It is a forum to communicate results of experimental, theoretical as well as descriptive studies of general interest to an international audience. Original contributions as well as short communications or reviews on ecological research on all kinds of organisms and ecosystems are welcome as well as papers that express emerging ideas and concepts with a sound scientific background.

Our aim and scope is to encourage also the submission of “small” papers which enlighten an interesting aspect of ecology within a broad European context. Please encourage your students and colleagues to submit to Web Ecology. We thankfully appreciate your promotion and help! Attached you will find a flyer with important infomations on Web Ecology. Please hand out a print out of this flyer to your students and colleagues or forward it via e-mail!

Web Ecology also needs your support concerning the activity of the Editor-in-Chief. Francisco “Paco” Pugnaire is the person behind Web Ecology since 2006 and has invested an enormous amount of energy and passion into this job. He wants to step down and we therefore would like to offer the Editor-in-Chief position to all of you. Paco won´t retreat completely to guarantee continuity. Nevertheless, the EEF board decided to appoint at least two Editors-in-Chief to broaden the profile of the journal and guarantee continuity in case of personal changes. If you think you that this task is a challenge that suits you, please let us know. We also appreciate appointments of congenial colleagues!

We are looking forward to your help!

Kind regards
The Council of the EEF
